Ø  Give them more reading activity like:
-Providing them a chart of sentences
            -A short story with Questions

Provide the instructional readers with exercises such as:
  • Rhymes
  • Beginning Sounds
  • Word Awareness

  • Diagraphs
  • Dipthongs
Provide them exercises in reading like:
  • Reading of a text, short passage or very short selection with questions to answer
  • Charting Technique

40% of the Non-readers will be able to read words, phrases and sentences.
Focus on Phonemic Awareness and Phonics:

v  Beginning Reading Strategy using DISTAR
v  Identifying sounds of the letters
Sharpen visual discrimination
v  Using “telling Boards or Show Me Board” where they can draw “stick figure sketches” based on their ideas or information. They find in the text.
Provide concrete examples, organizers and demonstration

Use technology:
v  Work with combination of text and audio tape and video tape.
v  Use oral video or /movie activities
